Job summary

Theuniversityunion is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor in San Antonio to oversee general operation and preventive maintenance of campus equipment and buildings.

Two years of maintenance training or experience, plus certification in air conditioning/refrigeration, are required. You will assign work orders, track tasks, and lead the team in the absence of the Site Plant Operations Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Two years general maintenance training and/or experience in plumbing, fire system.
• Certification in Air conditioning and/or refrigeration.
• Ability to assign work orders and supervise maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Assign work orders to maintenance workers according to areas of responsibility.
• Maintain work order log and submit completed orders to Facility Manager weekly.
• Monitor preventive maintenance of air conditioning, refrigeration, fire, heating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Provide leadership in the Maintenance Department in the absence of Site Plant Operations Supervisor.
• Participate in on-call duty rotation during off-hours as required.
• Notify supervisor of problems with plant or equipment promptly.
• Maintain flexibility in working hours to meet departmental needs.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide for the general operation and preventive maintenance of campus equipment and buildings.

EDUCATION/TRAINING EXPERIENCE

• Two years general maintenance training and/or experience in plumbing, fire system

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Certification in Air conditioning and/or refrigeration

THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION

• Assign work orders, as necessary, to maintenance workers accordingto areas of responsibility.
• Maintain work order log and turn into Facility Manager all completedwork orders on a weekly basis.
• Monitor the overall preventive maintenance and repairs of the airconditioner, refrigeration, fire system, heating, plumbing, electrical(ballasts, outlets, switches, light fixtures)
• Assume supervisory responsibilities of housekeeping, maintenanceand grounds in absence of Site Plant Operations Supervisor; Providingleadership and direction in order to ensure effective teamwork andachievement of goals in the Maintenance Department
• Participate in rotation of on-call duty during off work hours followingprotocol
• Notify supervisor of all problems with plant or equipment in a timely manner
• Maintain flexibility in working hours in order to meet the needs of the department
