Position Summary: Ensures the facility is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition and in a good state of repair. This role may involve supervised or unsupervised contact and conversational interaction with consumers while working in residences, day treatments, and habilitation facilities.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a clean, sanitary environment by sweeping, mopping floors, and disinfecting bathrooms as needed.
  2. Ensure assigned sites are in good repair, including painting, plastering, and furniture repair, and conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes.
  3. Complete monthly inspection checklists for vehicles, fire extinguishers, emergency lights, boilers, and other safety equipment.
  4. Process work orders as assigned, keep records of completed work, and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately.
  5. Address emergencies and unsafe conditions immediately.
  6. Keep sidewalks, yards, stairs, driveways, and steps free of debris, including shoveling snow and applying salt or sand when necessary.
  7. Manage storage and inventory of maintenance equipment and submit required reports.
  8. Ensure bathrooms are stocked with necessary supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap.
  9. Track janitorial supplies inventory and submit related reports.
  10. Lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds and work in various physical positions including bending and crouching.
  11. Use ladders and access confined spaces to perform maintenance tasks according to OSHA guidelines.
  12. Inspect HVAC systems, water heaters, pipes, laundry equipment, and other site equipment for signs of wear or leaks.
  13. Attend required training sessions and classes, including certificate and non-certificate courses.
  14. Work during emergencies, including snow and inclement weather, weekends, and holidays.
  15. Attend monthly staff meetings.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned, including potential driving of agency vehicles and use of hand tools following OSHA standards.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and experience in general maintenance work. Hands-on knowledge of plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems is preferred. Valid driver’s license required.
