Position Summary: Ensures the facility is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition and in a good state of repair. The role may involve supervised or unsupervised contact and conversational interaction with consumers while working in residences, day treatments, and habilitation facilities.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a clean, sanitary environment by sweeping, mopping floors, and disinfecting bathrooms as needed.
  2. Ensure assigned site(s) are in good repair, including painting, plastering, and furniture repair. Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes.
  3. Complete monthly facility inspection checklists, including vehicle, fire extinguisher, emergency lighting, boiler/water temperature, and other safety checks.
  4. Complete work orders as assigned and keep records of all work performed.
  5. Address emergencies and unsafe conditions promptly.
  6. Keep sidewalks, yards, stairs, driveways, and steps clear of debris; perform snow shoveling, salting, and sanding as required.
  7. Manage storage and inventory of maintenance equipment and submit reports.
  8. Ensure bathrooms are stocked with supplies.
  9. Track inventory of janitorial supplies and submit reports.
  10. Lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. and work in various physical positions.
  11. Carry and set up ladders, access confined spaces, and perform related tasks following OSHA guidelines.
  12. Inspect HVAC, water heaters, pipes, laundry equipment, and other site systems for issues.
  13. Attend required training sessions and work during emergencies, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  14. Participate in staff meetings and adhere to schedule and location changes.
  15. Possibly operate agency vehicles and utilize hand tools safely following OSHA standards.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and experience in general maintenance. Knowledge of plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems is preferred. Valid driver’s license required.
