TCG was founded in 1970 as the Community Day Care Center of Lawrence, and has grown to manage a successful charter public school (Community Day Charter Public School), early education and care programs, out-of-school time programming, and workforce development initiatives. **Job Summary:**The Maintenance Worker serves as a member of the Facilities Team at The Community Group/Community Day Charter Public School. The ideal candidate is a skilled handy person/tradesperson, capable of completing projects including light electrical work, plumbing, painting, and carpentry, waxing and stripping of floors. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Maintenance Director.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities*** Responsible for daily routine of safety and cleanliness of property inside and out;* Must be able to lift heavy cases and furniture when needed;* Responsible for taking alarm calls all hours at any time year around and meeting with Police and or Fire officials as needed;* Must assist fire department on quarterly walkthroughs and inspection with Maintenance Director when needed.* Responsible for any heating and or plumbing issues and notifying Maintenance Director;* Must clean playgrounds and inspect playground equipment on a daily basis;* Removal of trash during the school year on a daily basis;* Responsible for tools and Maintenance Equipment;* Must inspect all Exit and fire backup lights and replace when needed;* Occasional evening and weekends as needed.## Qualifications* Uphold a passionate belief in The Community Group's mission, values, and educational model;* Completed CORI, SORI and fingerprint scan in accordance with regulations set forth by the Department of Early Education and Care.* Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including but not limited to lifting, cleaning, snow removal, lawn care, assisting with deliveries and trash removal;* Must be reliable, organized;* Must communicate with Maintenance Director and with team a big plus;* Experience working with children a plus.**Equal Employment Opportunity Statement:***The Community Group is fully committed to Equal Employment Opportunity and to attracting, retaining, developing and promoting the most qualified employees without regard to their race, gender, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, citizenship status, veteran status, or any other characteristic prohibited by federal, state or local law.
