Sixteen Bricks in Cincinnati is seeking a dedicated Equipment Maintenance Technician to inspect, service, and repair bakery equipment, including ovens, mixers, and refrigeration units. You will implement preventive maintenance, document work, and coordinate with external technicians for major repairs while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced production environment.

Position Overview & Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain bakery equipment such as ovens,mixers, proofers, and refrigeration units to ensure they operate efficiently.
• Repairs: Perform minor repairs on bakeryequipment and coordinate with external technicians for major repairs.
• PreventiveMaintenance: Executea preventive maintenance schedule to minimize equipment downtime.
• SafetyCompliance: Ensureall maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations.
• InventoryManagement: Keeptrack of maintenance supplies and order new parts and tools as needed.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records ofmaintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Collaboration& Employee Management: Workclosely with managers and other staff to identify and address any equipmentissues promptly. The maintenance manager is responsible for managingmaintenance staff performance.
• AssetManagement: Trackthe condition and maintenance history of all equipment and assets. Plan forequipment upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning. Ensure compliance withindustry standards and regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using and repairing bakery equipment as well as generalbuilding maintenance.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and fixequipment issues quickly, and/or to recognize when it is appropriate andnecessary to hire external technicians for repairs.
• Attentionto Detail: Ensure allmaintenance tasks are performed to a high standard.
• Communication: Good communication skills tocoordinate tasks with production, HR, and accounting staff.
• At least 5 years of bakery maintenance experience orsimilar field work required.

Physical Requirements

Work requiresskilled mental and visual attention along with manual coordination toeffectively and safely complete various physical tasks throughout theproduction areas, building, and property, and whenever operating machinery ormotor vehicles. This job is not sedentary; the individual is frequentlyrequired to move (walk, squat, reach overhead, rotate, twist, bend, lift), andstand for varying periods of time and will frequently move (push, pull, lift,grasp, carry, drag, etc.) materials up to 50 pounds. Employees are required tofollow GMP standards and Sixteen Bricks’ dress code guidelines whenever inproduction areas.

Schedule, Wage, and Benefits

Full-time, fortyplus hours per week with days and hours varying with the needs of the companyand equipment. Non-exempt status; hourly wage ranges with consideration givenfor unique experience, skillset, and abilities. This employee is eligible foremployer-paid (80%) health insurance and other voluntary insurance coveragewithin 60 days of hire, paid holidays after 90 days of employment, and willbegin accruing paid time off upon hire.
