Job summary

Sleep Inn & MainStay Suites in Hurricane, West Virginia, is looking for a maintenance and utility person to ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of our building. Responsibilities include eliminating hazards, cleaning and securing the building, and reporting major repairs. The ideal candidate should have over 1 year of experience in cleaning services and a strong work ethic. Compensation starts at $12 hourly, increasing with experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a U.S. driver’s license or reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
• Over 1 year of experience in cleaning services as a janitor or similar job.
• Strong working knowledge of cleaning supplies and cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Eliminate dangerous hazards and wipe up spills with squeegees or sponges.
• Secure building by locking doors once cleaning is complete.
• Report areas cleaned and make sure managers know if major repairs are needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the building.
• Vacuum carpets, mop floors, scrub restrooms, dust furniture, and empty trash cans daily.

A typical day includes vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing floors, shampooing carpets, and any additional maintenance duties as needed.
