Job summary

Advocate Health Care's Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL seeks a Maintenance Trades Specialist III – Plumber to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on complex facility systems. You will read blueprints, operate building automation, and maintain medical gas and vacuum systems.

The role requires 4+ years in industrial/trades maintenance, advanced technical training, and a valid driver's license. This is a full-time, first-shift position with on-site work and on-call duties.

Qualifications

Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required

Education Required

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of technical training.

Experience Required

• 4 or more Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Ability to work with minimal oversight with advanced technical skills in facility maintenance.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills required.
• Advanced computer skills/competency required in using and operating systems such as Microsoft Office Platform, Building Automation Systems, Pneumatic Tube Systems.
• Clear understanding of applicable compliance codes and guidelines.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

• Works required shifts and participates in on-call duty to provide 24/7 coverage.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and therefore knowledge of safety precautions.
• Position requires travel. May be exposed to road/weather hazards.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Community College/Trade school degree
• Trade/Tech School Trades Certificate or trades or industry recognized certification/license requiring Continuing Education Units or periodic renewal to maintain.
• 7+ Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.
