Central Garden & Pet Kaytee in Chilton, WI is seeking a 2nd & 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician to join the maintenance team. The role focuses on project work including equipment installation, fabrication, and preventative maintenance, with a strong emphasis on safety and environment policy adherence.

• Performs special program tasks, such as annual and semi-annual PMP’s.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Responsible for reporting any Food Safety issues to authorized personnel for correction.

Description

Central Garden & Pet/Kaytee is currently looking for a 2nd & 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team at Kaytee in Chilton, WI. In this role you will be responsible for project work such as installation of equipment, fabrication, and preventative maintenance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work independently in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner

• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.


• Knowledge of maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and systems.


• Ability to test systems and/or operations in compliance with published standards.


• Ability to accurately use rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other related measuring tools.


• Knowledge of inspecting and cleaning utility plant equipment.


• Ability to work in elevated locations (elevator legs)


• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work involves regular exposure to unusual elements, such astemperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.


• Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous situations that require following extensive safety precautions and will include the use of protective equipment. Frequent physical activity.


• Requiresphysical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds, and as needed the ability to lift and/or move 50-100 pounds (with assistance).


• This position also requires the ability to regularly climb, lift, bend, stand, walk, twist, turn, and reach with arms and hands.


• Hours of work will generally be Monday-Friday from 2PM-10PM or 3PM-11PM or 4PM-12AM there may be some variation in work hours due to overtime, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns.
