Job summary

Saddle Creek Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Lakeland, FL. The role focuses on electrical troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance of packaging equipment, including conveyors and robotics. PLC knowledge is required, and preventative maintenance is a core responsibility.

Qualified candidates will have at least five years of experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work on installation, wiring, and equipment upkeep in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 5 years’ experience in packaging and equipment maintenance.
  • Experience with conveyors, robotics, wrappers, palletizers, shrink wrappers, casers, air compressors and boilers.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Install machines and wiring; perform control wiring installations and troubleshooting to component level; understand PLCs (not programming).
  • Anchor equipment, run conduit, pull wires, and terminate conductors.
  • Maintain and rebuild conveyors, robotics, and packaging lines; perform routine maintenance duties.

Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. (possible OT during the week)

Overview

The Maintenance Technician position will require electrical trouble shooting skills as well as an experienced mechanical aptitude. We are seeking qualified candidates with five years’ experience in packaging and equipment maintenance with an emphasis on electrical installation, PLC knowledge, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
  • This position will be responsible for but is not limited to machine installation, control wiring installations and troubleshooting to the component level, PLC understanding and troubleshooting skills (not programming), anchoring equipment, running conduit, pulling wire, termination of conductors, maintenance and rebuilding of equipment, conveyor systems, robotics, and other routine maintenance duties.
Education/Experience

High school diploma required 5 years’ experience in packaging and equipment maintenance with an emphasis on electrical installation and experience with preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting in the following areas: conveyors, robotics, over wrappers, palletizers, shrink wrappers, casers, air compressors, and boilers required Experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated conveyor equipment preferred.

Certifications
  • in basic electrical, mechanical, motor control relay logic, and schematic reading
Experience operating boom and scissor lifts

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to use basic electrical test instruments to include VOM multi-meter, clamp on ampere meter, and other basic test instruments
  • Ability to troubleshoot sensors, photo eyes as well as how they relate to the PLC operation
  • Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic cylinders and MAC valves
  • Ability to maintain and operate boilers and steam tunnels
