Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a skilled maintenance professional to perform preventive and corrective maintenance across hospital facilities and equipment. You will interpret blueprints, follow work orders, and maintain logs while mentoring junior staff and supporting emergency response during events.

Expect collaboration with multiple departments to ensure safety, compliance, and reliable operations.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of maintenance experience.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
  • Knowledge of code requirements, power tools and appropriate building materials.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine to specialized preventive maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
  • Repair mechanical equipment and systems including motors, pumps, plumbing, and related systems.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and work orders; maintain maintenance logs to regulatory standards.
  • Assist with emergencies and coordinate with departments, contractors, and staff on projects.

Summary

Performs healthcare maintenance of building and grounds equipment, finishes, systems and structures through scheduled rounds and responding to work order and requests. Acts as a mentor to employees and as a resource on more complex and technical maintenance issues.

Responsibilities

Conducts routine to specialized preventive maintenance to specialized equipment safety checks.Repairs mechanical equipment and systems including but not limited to: motors, pumps, pneumatic tube, plumbing systems, sanitary systems, specialized water systems, medical gas outlets, plumbing fixtures, blowers, and fans.Performs general maintenance functions including but not limited to: carpentry, painting, interior finishes, millwork, doors and windows.Reads and follows blueprints, schematic, charts, computerized maintenance work orders, schedules and written instructions.Maintains logs and computerized preventive and corrective maintenance repair files in order to comply with local, state and federal regulatory requirements.Is available to assist with emergencies such as the Hurricane Activation Plan, as assigned.Acts as a resource for advanced troubleshooting and updates leadership and appropriate staff on maintenance situations and conditions.Coordinates and advises other departments, contractors, and staff for department projects and maintenance.
