Job summary

Leslie's Stellar Manufacturing affiliate in Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support chemical manufacturing operations. This role installs, maintains, and repairs mechanical, electrical, and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, experienced in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment repair in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years as maintenance mechanic or completion of relevant technical coursework.
• Read, write, and speak English to document issues and logs.
• Read blueprints and/or schematics and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor equipment to troubleshoot issues and test performance.
• Review and complete work orders accurately; seek clarification when needed.
• Set up and operate drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to fabricate or repair parts.
• Repair, rebuild, and adjust equipment, including mechanical and control components.
• Install machinery, equipment, devices, and instruments.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, filter changes, inspections, and cleaning; document activities in the preventive maintenance system.
• Coordinate with the supervisor to initiate purchase orders for parts and equipment.
• Maintain accurate logbook entries to document maintenance activities and equipment issues.
• Ensure compliance with plant labeling requirements and proper chemical handling.
• Recommend improvements to equipment performance and maintenance processes.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Overview

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or completion of relevant technical coursework.
• Perform basic math, take accurate measurements, and read blueprints and/or schematics.
• Experience using tools and equipment such as drill presses, hand tools, micrometers, welding equipment, and drafting tools.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling for extended periods.
• Lift up to 100 pounds and work in confined or uncomfortable positions.
• Work safely in environments with potential chemical exposure.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators.
• Work in both hot and cold conditions.

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00/Hourly
