Job summary

Mersen is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our machine shop. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines and related equipment to ensure continuous production in a high-tech environment.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control-system issues, read schematics, replace components, and collaborate with production staff to minimize downtime while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years maintenance experience in a machine shop.
  • Experience with CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, saws, presses.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic control-system problems.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and repair to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain maintenance records and scheduled tasks.
  • Replace bearings, belts, motors, pumps, sensors, switches, hoses.
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, manuals.
  • Assist with installations, moves, setup, modifications.
  • Perform fabrication or repair work as needed.
  • Maintain shop utilities and facility equipment (HVAC, lighting, compressors).
  • Coordinate with production to identify recurring issues and improvements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety policies.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance as required.
  • Keep inventory of common parts.

Maintenance Technician – Machine Shop
Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, saws, presses, and other machine-shop equipment.

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic control-system problems.

Diagnose equipment failures and make timely repairs to minimize production downtime.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Replace bearings, belts, motors, pumps, sensors, switches, hoses, and other machine components.

Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, manuals, and equipment documentation.

Assist with machine installations, equipment moves, setup, and modifications.

Perform fabrication, machining, or other repair work as needed.

Maintain shop utilities and facility equipment, including compressors, HVAC systems, lighting, and other support systems.

Work closely with production personnel to identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.

Maintain an inventory of commonly used maintenance parts and supplies.

Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations as required.

$20 - $26 per hour

Job Qualifications
  • Education: Undergraduate : Associate's, Bachelor's, or equivalent extensive experience
  • Professional experience required: 3 - 5 years
