Job summary

National Church Residences in Sidney, NY, is seeking maintenance technicians for our Sidney Senior Village. This part-time role (25 hours/week) involves weekday shifts, on-call duties after hours, and no weekend work except on-call emergencies.

You will help maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems within a senior apartment community. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in residential maintenance, strong troubleshooting, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred.
• 1–2 years of residential or apartment maintenance experience required.
• HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Certifications (HVAC, OSHA, etc.) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
• Diagnose and repair maintenance issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain interior and exterior common areas, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
• Complete minor carpentry, painting, appliance, and general repairs.
• Supervise and mentor junior maintenance staff, when applicable.
• Manage inventory and submit maintenance records and reports.
• Comply with all safety regulations and building codes.

This position requires availability for on‑call duties 24/7, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
