Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Maintenance Tech to uphold the physical condition of buildings and public areas on our 40-acre retirement campus. You will perform routine and emergency repairs, assist in HVAC, and respond to equipment failures while supporting fellow maintenance staff to complete tasks on schedule.

The role requires knowledge of residential building maintenance, strong communication with residents, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of residential building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, flooring, and appliances; HVAC knowledge is required.
• Ability to effectively communicate with residents and staff.
• Ability to work under general supervision.
• Flexibility and integrity are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency repairs in residential apartments and public areas (electrical, plumbing, lighting, doors, locks, etc.).
• Assist in HVAC initial response and simple repairs as needed.
• Respond to emergency calls regarding system or equipment failures.
• Complete work orders with detailed task and equipment information.
• Assist other maintenance staff on projects, including campus snow removal.
• Maintain inventory of materials and supplies to ensure timely tasks.
• Occasional on-call overtime as required.
• Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Director of General Services to ensure smooth operation.
• Attendance and punctuality as per policy.
