Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Distribution Center maintenance technician to keep facilities and equipment operating efficiently. The role aligns with a second shift, 2 PM–10:30 PM local time, Monday through Friday.

You will perform preventive maintenance per CMMS, repair DC equipment, clear jams, and conduct light building maintenance such as lamp replacements, wiring, overhead doors, and plumbing. This position requires safety awareness and ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School/GED with 2+ years in industrial or maintenance tech OR 2+ years in facilities, distribution or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of industrial electricity including single-phase and three-phase power, motors and protective devices.
• Familiarity with bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and general mechanical operation.
• Ability to climb to elevated heights and lift up to 80 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and minor repairs on DC equipment.
• Use CMMS-generated PM worksheets to maintain machinery according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Keep material handling equipment running smoothly by clearing jams and removing debris.

Job Summary

Maintains Distribution Center (DC) facilities and equipment to maximize Operations performance.

While this is subject to change, an individual in this position will likely work the second shift of 2 PM to 10:30 PM local time Mondays through Fridays.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs assigned preventive maintenance tasks and minor mechanical repairs to material-handling and other Distribution Center (DC) equipment.
• Uses Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)-generated preventive maintenance worksheets to maintain distribution machinery and equipment according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and good maintenance practices.
• Maintains efficient operation of material handling equipment by clearing jams and removing foreign materials.
• Performs general building maintenance as directed, such as lamp replacement, simple construction, wiring, repair of overhead doors and plumbing.

Basic Qualifications

• High School/GED and at least 2 years (BA is PQ only) in associate degree in industrial or maintenance technology OR at least 2 years of maintenance experience in a facilities, United States Armed Forces, distribution and/or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of industrial electricity including single-phase and three-phase power, motors, protective devices and/or photo sensors.
• At least 6 months experience with hand and power tools (such as drills, fasteners and saws) in a facilities, United States Armed Forces, distribution and/or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical theory including bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor, construction, and operation.
• Willing and able to climb to the 100-foot level to make repairs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willing and able to lift parts and tools weighing up to 80 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willing and able to perform tasks which include repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking with or without reasonable accommodation.
