Job summary

Brook & Whittle LTD in Kansas is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (3:30pm - 12:00AM, Monday-Friday) to support production by maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems on manufacturing equipment.

The role requires a technical degree or 5+ years in industrial maintenance, PLC/instrumentation experience, CMMS proficiency, and a strong safety mindset. Collaboration with engineering and vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a technical discipline or 5+ years industrial maintenance experience.
• Electrical preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, instrumentation, and electronics.
• Proficient with CMMS and basic PC literacy.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Familiar with OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Willingness to learn and attend training.
• Good communication and ability to work a flexible schedule including shift work.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance per production priorities, including repairing and troubleshooting equipment and supporting systems.
• Supervise maintenance contractors when required.
• Maintain a Maintenance Action Log per equipment to track repairs and baseline preventive maintenance.
• Participate in startup and shutdown activities; assist with task planning and scheduling.
• Work with vendors/OEM for parts pricing and repair recommendations.
• Incorporate safe practices while completing maintenance tasks.
• Maintain the Maintenance Department work area and ensure proper tool storage.
• Comply with all company, local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Other duties as assigned or changed.

Description

The Maintenance Technician will support the objectives of production through the Maintenance function by the implementation of assigned tasks, supplying continuity between engineering and managerial functions. Maintains (through preventative maintenance) repairs and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical systems for production equipment. This position is for 2nd Shift 3:30pm - 12:00AM, Monday-Friday.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Performs hands-on maintenance tasks according to set production maintenance priorities, including repairing and troubleshooting of all equipment and support systems for the facility. Also, assists with the repair and maintenance of the physical structure.
• Supervises maintenance contractors, when required.
• Maintains a Maintenance Action Log, by a piece of equipment, in order to track individual repairs, and serve as a baseline for future preventive maintenance.
• Participates in startup and shutdown activities, as required. Assists with Shutdown Task planning and scheduling.
• Works with vendors / OEM to obtain parts pricing and repair recommendations for process equipment and systems.
• Incorporates safe practices while completing assigned maintenance work order activities.
• Maintains the Maintenance Department work area. Cleans-up after each task, and on a daily basis, performs care for tools and proper storage of supplies.
• Complies with all Company, Local, State, and Federal rules and regulations in regard to Health, Safety, and the Environment.
• Other duties may be assigned or current duties modified/changed.

Requirements

• Associates degree in a technical discipline or a minimum of 5 years in Industrial Maintenance in a manufacturing setting. Electrical preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC’s, instrumentation, and other electronics.
• Must be willing to learn and attend training classes as defined by Management.
• PC literacy and proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and procedures.
• Basic Welding Skills a plus.
• Familiarity with OSHA and Environmental Regulations.
• Good communication skills and ability to work a flexible working schedule including shift work.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
