Job summary

Johnson Welded Products, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair equipment and systems across the facility. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and ensure production machinery operates safely and efficiently.

The role requires independent work and collaboration with the team. The position is on second shift (3:30pm to 1:30am) with extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a maintenance technician role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hand tool knowledge.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying physical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate all types of machines and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance per work orders on plant-wide machinery and equipment.
• Consult equipment manuals for details not listed on work orders.
• Shut down and start up machines following safety procedures and lockout/tagout.
• Lubricate and replace belts; clean and maintain machines and parts.
• Repair welds and weld equipment to join metal parts as needed.
• Coordinate with management, planners, safety, quality and production.
• Ensure OSHA and company safety standards are followed.
• Work with outside contractors on grounds, building structure, heating, electrical, and lighting.
• Handle special projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining and repairing various types of equipment and systems within a facility. The Maintenance Technician ensures production machinery and facility equipment operate efficiently by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting electrical/mechanical issues, repairing equipment. physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members.

Shift

Second shift 3:30pm to 1:30am (with varying extended hours as needed)

Essential Job Duties

• Set-up and operation of all types of machines and equipment.
• Performs duties as directed from preventative maintenance work order on plant-wide machinery and equipment.
• Refers to manufacturers equipment manual and prints for specific details not listed on work order.
• Shut down and start up of machines and equipment in line with company safety procedures and OSHA lockout tagout requirements.
• Clean and lubricate machines, equipment, and vehicle parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings. Replace or repair machine belts. Remove dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
• Make production parts to tolerance and company specifications.
• Connect wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replace switches and fuses, and terminate wire.
• Clear clogged drains and replace plumbing fixtures.
• Determine control settings for all welding equipment. Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
• Perform plant wide janitorial services.
• Perform computer transactions for maintenance parts inventory control.
• Interface with management, planners, safety, quality and production associates.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards, maintaining a clean and safe work area.
• Partner with outside contractors work on grounds, building structure, heating, electrical, facility lighting, fire suppression, and security.
• Performs special projects, installations, and other duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a maintenance technician role, preferably in a similar industry or production manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand tools required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, and manuals
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer and math skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Plex applications
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in various physical conditions, such as standing, bending, and climbing ladders
