Job summary

Alsum Farms & Produce Inc. is seeking full-time Maintenance Technicians for 2nd and 3rd shifts to maintain large production machinery and keep repair records. The role includes preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and documenting repairs using CMMS.

Candidates should be mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills, able to work independently or in a team, and maintain safety in a fast-paced environment. A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
• Cleans machines and parts, removing and reinstalling components as needed.
• Lubricates machines to ensure proper performance.
• Records damaged or worn parts for ordering.
• Installs replacement parts for machines.
• Identifies causes of unexpected breakdowns and repairs promptly.
• Uses CMMS to document work performed.
• Maintains tidy shop areas, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinates with manager to schedule regular maintenance.
• Collaborates with Maintenance manager on new products and required modifications.
• Performs alterations and testing on equipment as needed.

Alsum Farms & Produce Inc., a grower, packer, and shipper of potatoes & onions located in Friesland, WI is looking for full-time Second (2nd) and 3rd Shift Maintenance Technicians! As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform the maintenance of large production machinery while maintaining records of repairs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines


• Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary


• Lubricates machines to ensure effective performance


• Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts to be ordered


• Installs replacement parts for machines


• Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines


• Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently


• Use of CMMS for documenting work performed


• Maintains a clean, organized, store room, and maintains shop areas, tools, and supplies


• Coordinates with manager to schedule regular maintenance on machines


• Collaborates with Maintenance manager regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required


• Makes necessary modifications and testing equipment; confers with production manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required


• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Education And Experience

• Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.

Job Type: Full-time

Job Schedule: Monday - Friday

2nd Shift - 2:30pm-11:00pm/3:30pm-12:00am

3rd shift - 10:30pm-7:00am

Salary: $27.00-$34.00 per hour depending on experience plus shift premium

Work Location: Friesland, WI

• Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas


• Exposure to airborne particles or fumes


• Perform repairs at heights greater than 20 feet


• Ability to withstand cold and warm working conditions
