Job summary

Taylor Metal Products is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician to join our team in Salem, OR. You will perform preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment to keep operations running smoothly and in compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities include inspecting machinery, diagnosing issues, disassembling components, repairing or replacing parts, wiring and electrical work, and maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Written communication skills.
  • 1-3 years of internal or relevant industrial machinery maintenance experience required.
  • Forklift certification preferred (will certify in-house).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • First-aid certification preferred.
  • CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Disassemble machines to access defective parts with hoists or hand tools.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on motors, belts, and other components.
  • Repair machines using tools and equipment; weld or cut as needed.
  • Install wiring and electrical components; assemble equipment.
  • Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams and manuals.
  • Record maintenance type and cost; ensure compliance with policies.
  • Train or manage maintenance personnel or subcontractors.
