Description
A SACMI Closure Line Maintenance Technician's duties involve ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of the high-speed compression molding (CCM) and lining equipment. This role requires a blend of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and lubrication tasks on all production equipment (CCM machines, chillers, compressors, etc.) to minimize downtime and extend machinery life.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery and systems to identify potential problems before they escalate into major failures.
- Use predictive maintenance tools (like SACMI's Alarm Analyzer) to monitor machine health and analyze alarm trends.
- Respond rapidly to emergency breakdowns with a strong sense of urgency to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions during production.
- Dismantle, repair, or replace broken or malfunctioning components, including drives, motors, belts, pumps, and valves.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical/electronic issues, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, and control systems (PLCs, sensors, etc.)
- Orders and installs replacement parts for machines.
- Prepares reports documenting work performed.
- Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
- Fabricates and welds basic steel projects.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- HS Diploma/GED Required. Three years of relevant experience (one employer) may be substituted
- Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery
- Must be able to visually inspect machines
