• Must be able to work independently and communicate effectively with residents and vendors.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
• Experience performing maintenance tasks in property management or similar settings.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to supervise others when required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance with residents and vendors.
• Conduct routine property inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Repair or replace plumbing fixtures and appliances as needed.
• Demolish and renovate projects including flooring and sheetrock.
• Manage flooring, painting, and renovation projects.
• Diagnose and repair appliances; respond to requests promptly.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and report major issues to supervisor.
• Assist with carpentry, landscaping, and other facilities tasks.
• Supervise and coordinate contractors when approved.
• Track supplies and hours to keep projects on budget.
• Work some weekends on-call.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician for True North, you will be responsible for performing various maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation and communication within our properties. This is a hands‑on role that requires strong technical skills, communication, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.

Duties:

• Communicate and schedule maintenance with residents and vendors
• Conduct routine property inspections to identify any maintenance needs
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks
• Repair or replace: toilets, tubs, faucets, and related plumbing fixtures
• Demo projects such removing existing flooring and sheetrock
• Flooring installation projects, Painting Projects, Renovation Projects
• Diagnose, repair, or replace appliances
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks based on urgency
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any major issues to the supervisor
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and landscaping
• Supervise and coordinate contractors when approved
• Track supply receipts and hours on the job/task at hand: Work with the maintenance department to ensure projects remain on budget
• Some weekend availability is required (on‑call)

Skills:

• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff and external vendors
• Experience completing the above referenced job duties
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting
• Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise others when required

Requirements:

• Drivers license and insured vehicle (We provide mileage reimbursement stipends)
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 lbs)
• Basic hand tools for work responsibilities

• Property management: 2 years (Preferred)
