Job summary

Basden Steel Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support preventative maintenance programs and the upkeep of equipment and facilities. The role focuses on reducing unplanned downtime, improving production quality, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment.

You will follow maintenance schedules, inspect systems, assist in testing, and document all activities. May require overtime or weekends and may involve lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• College or technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with Peddinghaus machinery preferred.
• Electrical experience with 3-phase systems and machine controls is desirable.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow the facility’s preventative maintenance program and inspections.
• Maintain and repair equipment to minimize downtime and improve quality.
• Document all maintenance, modifications, and repairs.
• Troubleshoot issues and analyze root causes for equipment/systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe maintenance area and work environment.
• May require overtime or weekend work as needed.
• Report issues to supervisor and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies and parts.
