Job summary

Oldcastle APG in Georgia, USA, is seeking a maintenance technician to oversee preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment, tools, and machinery as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. The role may assist the mobile mechanic or plant personnel.

Responsibilities include installing, adjusting, and repairing production equipment, using hand and power tools, welding and light machining as needed, and performing general repairs to keep the plant running smoothly and safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or vocational certification or training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and work instructions.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, electricity preferred.
• Able to work in a team or independently.
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines.
• Operate hand and power tools to repair, grease, change parts and complete tasks.
• Welding, torching, and light machining as required.
• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly.
• Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery and ensure proper operation.
• Install equipment and electrical components and test.
• Dismantle equipment to access and remove defective parts.
• Replace and install parts as needed.
• Lubricate and clean parts and equipment; perform other duties as needed.
