Undisclosed College seeks a Maintenance Technician (Plumbing) to maintain and repair college facilities and grounds. The role covers plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical work, painting, and related tasks, supporting preventive maintenance and responding to work orders.
The ideal candidate has at least three years of full-time maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and preferred North Carolina licensing.
Salary: $35,721.00 - $41,674.00 Annually
The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of duties involved in the skilled maintenance and repairs of college facilities and grounds; and performs a variety of technical duties relative to assigned area of responsibility.

The employee should have the ability to effectively handle a work environment and conditions which involve indoor and outdoor environment; working with machinery; exposure to dust and dirt; periodically working in high places; may be exposed to hazardous chemicals and materials.
The employee must preserve environments by maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to OSHA standards to provide a safe work environment.
Physical and marginal functions require the ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following; standing, walking or sitting for extended periods, lifting and carrying moderately heavy materials, general manual dexterity, operating assigned equipment, and repeated bending.
The employee is required to maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, reading and writing, operating assigned equipment, communicating with others, and handling varied tasks simultaneously.
Additionally, the employee must maintain mental capacity, which permits making sound decisions and using good judgment, and demonstrating intellectual capabilities.
This is a full-time, position working 36 hours a week, generally Monday-Thursday, 7:00am - 3:30pm and Friday, 7:00am - 11:00am.
Local travel between the Caldwell campus, Watauga campus, or any off-campus sites may be needed. Out of state travel is limited, but may be required for training and conferences.
Experience: Three years of full-time general building maintenance, construction, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping, or other related experience is required.
Training: High School diploma or GED is required. Formal training in mechanical, plumbing, construction, landscaping, carpentry, and/or electrical repair is preferred.
License or Certificate: North Carolina license in area of expertise is preferred.
