The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Director of Operations. The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work to maintain all physical aspects of the facility while maintaining OSHA compliance and working cooperatively with other departments to assure facility readiness and smooth operation of events.

This role pays an hourly rate of $30.00-$35.00

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform painting, flooring, and troubleshooting as directed at a highly skilled level inclusive of but not limited to:
    • Insulation of pipe and duct, maintenance to all piping insulation
    • Drywall installation and repair
    • Ceiling repairs
  • Ability to assist/handle facility projects such as but not limited to new construction.
  • Completion of the Maintenance Pre, Post, and Event Checklists for all events.
  • Maintain all shops in a clean and organized manner.
  • Work with Maintenance staff/Operations Manager to prioritize work orders and managing materials to complete works by deadlines.
  • Work well with co-workers and/or ability to work independently, exercising judgement and initiative.
  • Respond to promoter requests and event requirements.
  • Equipment operation includes forklift, scissor lift, snow removal equipment, power tools and associated equipment.
  • Provide own hand tools required to perform task
  • Assist Operations Crew as directed.
  • Work effectively under pressure and or/ stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Adheres to OSHA and other applicable safety codes.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions applicable to building equipment and repair.
  • Know and guarantee all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures are followed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

As this position is classified as Essential Personnel, mandatory overtime may be required. Additionally, an employee may be required to work before and/or after regularly scheduled shift and/or work through breaks and lunchtime. Employee must be available to work as needed during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the ability to perform all essential duties and responsibilities in a satisfactory manner.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a reliable form of transportation.
  • Due to essential personnel status, must maintain an effective way to be reached after normal work hours.
  • High school diploma or GED and five 2-4 years of full-time related experience at a facility/commercial building.
  • Skilled and semi-skilled in maintenance and repair in carpentry, painting, and insulation.
  • Demonstrated skill use with all common hand tools, power tools, meters, and equipment typically utilized in facilities maintenance.
  • Work independently, exercising judgement and initiative.
  • Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, bobcat, scrubbing machines.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience doing commercial pipe and duct insulation work.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and other related materials.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required.
  • Working from various heights.
  • Extensive time spent with moderate to loud noises.
  • Frequent bending, lifting 50 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building.
