Job summary

AIR Communities seeks a Maintenance Technician to service residents at Palazzo East in Los Angeles, CA.You'll use modern tech to complete turns, basic repairs, and preventive maintenance, ensuring apartments are ready for new residents while delivering excellent service.

You’ll work at Palazzo East, a luxury 611-unit community in Los Angeles, with on-site support and opportunities for career growth through AIR’s Ascend program.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of maintenance experience.
• Proficient in at least two technical trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances).
• Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Reliable transportation to respond to emergencies after hours.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to residents and support the team.
• Follow AIR’s process for basic apartment turns to prepare units for next move-in.
• Perform resident-requested repairs and routine maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances).
• Potentially train other maintenance technicians and support skill development.
• Assist with vendor selection/quality and move-in/move-out inspections.
• Roles vary by community needs and season.

What You Will Do

• With general direction, complete resident requested repairs and routine maintenance (i.e. troubleshoot and repair/replace plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances, etc.)
• May provide functional/technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians and support the development of technical skills.
• May assist with managing vendor qualityand may perform move-in/move-out inspections.
• Responsibilities vary based on team member skillset and community needs, mechanical systems, and season.

What You Have

• At least 2years of maintenance experience, preferably in some form of facilities or building environment
• Proficient skills in at least two technical trades(plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
• Ability to work a flexible scheduleincluding evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks (depending on community needs and seasonality), and on-call shifts (at least one week a month).
• A reliable mode of transportationto respond to emergency service requests while on-call after hours.
• Comfort with physical activityas you must be able and willing to move heavy equipment and machinery.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
