Job summary

Pregis is seeking an Electromechanical Maintenance Technician to join our McDonough, GA facility on the night shift (6PM–6AM). You will perform maintenance on production, packaging and processing equipment, troubleshoot PLC and drive systems, and manage preventive maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualified candidates have 1+ year maintenance experience, knowledge of mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and the ability to read drawings and work orders.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year(s) experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repair.
  • Experience with maintenance work order systems.
  • Welding and machining skills desired, not required.
  • Ability to read mechanical, piping and electrical drawings.
  • Operate hand and power tools, meters, and material handling equipment.
  • MUST BE PLC CERTIFIED.
  • Equivalent education/experience considered.
  • Exposure to moving equipment; humidity may exceed 80%.
  • Personal protective equipment required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on production, packaging, processing equipment and utilities.
  • Troubleshoot PLC and AC/DC drive systems.
  • On-call for emergency repairs as needed.
  • Read schematics, manuals and work orders to perform maintenance.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and review SPC data.
  • Maintain line and support systems (lube, resin, processes).
  • Document work orders in CMMS accurately and promptly.
  • Communicate with departments and management about issues.
  • Complete paperwork following SOPs.
  • Assist in maintaining parts inventory and report low supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and shop.
  • Adhere to Master Sanitation Schedule and safety standards.
  • Identify CCPs and follow safety rules.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Other responsibilities as directed.

Position : Electromechanical Maintenance Technician
Shift : Nights (6PM-6AM)
Reports to : Maintenance Lead
Location : McDonough, GA
Electromechanical Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
  • Perform the proper function of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production, packaging and processing equipment, and utility systems.
  • Successfully perform troubleshooting on Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and AC/DC drive systems.
  • On call for emergency repairs in breakdown situations as necessary.
  • Accurately read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (i.e., conducting computerized preventative maintenance check-ups or reading SPC charts and data) as needed.
  • Ensure proper function of the line manufacturing support systems (line/lube delivery, resin delivery, process systems, operational support.)
  • Accurately complete and document work orders promptly in CMMS to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees; notifying them of problems and/or concerns that may restrict production efficiency.
  • Complete all paperwork in a clear, legible, and accurate format, including all required information and documentation following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by checking parts out of inventory and assigning them to the proper work order, report low supply levels to Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, including maintenance shop.
  • Adhere to Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
  • Identify Critical Control Points (CCP).
  • Abide by all safety standards and protocols set forth by OSHA and Pregis.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Other responsibilities as directed or required.

Electromechanical Maintenance Technician Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Associate’s or Technical School Degree in Mechanics, Electrical, Computer Science, preferred
Electromechanical Maintenance Technician Qualifications and/or Experience:
  • 1+ year(s) experience working as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics repair and troubleshooting
  • Experience with maintenance work order systems
  • Knowledge of welding and machining skills desired, not required
  • Must be able to understand mechanical, piping, and electrical drawings
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform duties
  • MUST BE PLC CERTIFIED
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Exposure to moving equipmentHumidity may exceed 80%
  • Personal Protective Equipment required
