Job summary

United Felts, Inc. is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to service electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will diagnose malfunctions, perform repairs, and keep production lines running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include troubleshooting PLCs, temperature controllers, power supplies, and equipment start-up/shutdown following OSHA guidelines; documenting maintenance actions; and maintaining tools

Qualifications

• GED/HS diploma required; technical or associate degree preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and specs.
• Comfort with basic math and safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document activities.
• Maintain tools, spare parts, and inventories; follow safety policies.
• Work with CMMS to record maintenance and job details.
• Assist with facility maintenance duties as needed.

Job description

Summary

Conducts, maintains, assesses, and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists in troubleshooting and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment including programmable logic controllers, temperature controllers, power supplies, VFD's and test equipment.
• Assists in repairs or adjustments to all machinery in manufacturing area.
• Conduct occasional facility maintenance, service, and repairs in the areas of dock doors, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
• Installs, starts up, and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
• Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
• Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining tools, spare parts, and inventories.
• Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
• Work in a safe manner always by following company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties when required.
• Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.

Qualifications

• GED/High School Diploma is required.
• Associate’s degree, certificate from college, trade school or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field is required.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to moderate noise and standard factory conditions.
• Exposure to high voltage electricity.

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of motion including eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
• Requires ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close-quarters performing analysis and repair work.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on a continuous basis.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but could include shift work, weekends, evenings and/or holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.
