Job summary

Rheem Manufacturing Company in Scottsboro, Alabama is seeking a maintenance technician to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment in a safety-conscious environment supporting HVAC and industrial refrigeration unit production. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, read drawings, and operate hand and power tools, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, and specifications.
  • Experience working with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Perform typical maintenance tasks to support all production activities.

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the mass production of HVAC and industrial refrigeration units by performing the following duties:

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the mass production of HVAC and industrial refrigeration units by performing the following duties:

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Conduct self in all actions with a safety first mindset
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Perform typical maintenance tasks to support all production activities
  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on machinery, equipment, building, and grounds as required
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications
  • General knowledge and/or experience with:
    • Electrical systems including control components – such as disconnects, breakers, relays, fuses, motors, PLCs, etc.
    • Pneumatic systems and components – such as valves, cylinders, pneumatic tools, etc.
    • Hydraulic systems and components – such as pumps, hoses, cylinders, accumulators, etc.
    • Mechanical systems and components – such as conveyors, hoists, chains, sprockets, belts, etc.
  • The position requires the ability to use all hand tools and power tools common to the tasks listed
  • The position requires the ability of basic operation of maintenance related machinery such as mill, lathe, grinder
  • The position requires the ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, and specifications
  • The position requires considerable judgment when performing and planning to perform his/her tasks
  • The position will be required to perform basic math.
  • High School diploma or GED required
Physical environment/working conditions:

The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and exposure to loud noise for long periods throughout the day.

Equipment and Machinery used:

A large variety of hand and power tools common to the tasks listed.

Personal Protective/ Safety Equipment used:

Eye and ear protection required at all times. Safety toed shoes required.

Other:

The position requires the ability to function as a member of a team and as an individual. Lockout/Tag out and forklift safety certification must be maintained at all times. The position requires knowledge and awareness of electrostatic discharge, foreign object damage, and quality systems. The position requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
