Job summary

Echo Lake Foods, now part of Cal-Maine Foods, is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain production equipment in our Kentucky manufacturing environment. You’ll troubleshoot conveyors, motors, pumps, and other equipment, performing preventive maintenance to support reliable, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in industrial maintenance, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Advanced skills diagnosing and repairing high-speed equipment.

• Knowledge of piping systems and mechanical components.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Operate drilling and milling machines.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

We are currently seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Mechanic to support our operations by troubleshooting and repairing equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and helping ensure reliable, efficient production within our manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently, including conveyor systems, hydraulic sorting equipment, motors, electrical systems, and facility equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on facility machinery and equipment.
• Complete daily maintenance and repair documentation and logs.
• Perform all assigned duties in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the industrial maintenance field, preferably within a food manufacturing environment.
• Advanced knowledge and skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing high-speed manufacturing equipment.
• Experience working with AC/DC motors and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, and manufacturing specifications.
• Knowledge of piping systems and mechanical components.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Ability to operate drilling and milling machines to produce or retool mechanical parts.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees and leadership.

Physical Requirements

• Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and power/hand tools.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including cold temperature conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
