Job summary

Georgia-Pacific’s Martinsville corrugated facility in Martinsville, VA is hiring a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations. You will troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems while improving equipment reliability.

This night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) may require weekends, overtime, and schedule flexibility. You will read schematics and manuals, work with operations to resolve issues, and follow safety procedures such as

Qualifications

  • Experience performing electrical and/or mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment and systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience working with PLCs, motors, and drive systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to diagnose issues
  • Partner with operations teams to resolve equipment problems and improve performance
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and proper machine guarding
  • Willing and able to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime

Maintenance Technician - Martinsville, VA

Georgia-Pacific’s Corrugated facility in Martinsville, VA is now hiring a skilled and motivated Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations. If you enjoy hands‑on troubleshooting, working with both mechanical and electrical systems, and making a direct impact on production, this could be the right opportunity for you.

Pay: Up to $38.95/hour based on experience

Schedule:

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Occasional weekends, overtime, and schedule flexibility required

What You Will Do

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience performing electrical and/or mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment and systems
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Experience working with PLCs, motors, and drive systems

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Associate degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or related field
  • Knowledge of NEC and NFPA standards
  • Experience with conveyors, power transmission systems, and rotating equipment
