Job summary

Berry Aviation, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician Lead to guide a crew in delivering compliant and quality aircraft maintenance. You will assign tasks, monitor safety and productivity, and ensure proper documentation and training.

The role requires strong leadership, maintenance expertise, and the ability to work in austere environments, with a preference for avionics background and DoD clearance. An A&P certificate is required and supervision experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Five years’ aircraft maintenance experience required.
• Avionics experience preferred.
• Must hold DoD (or equivalent) Secret Clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience living/working in an austere environment preferred.
• Two years supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and assigns mechanics to accomplish maintenance per the GMM.
• Ensures quality and quantity of maintenance work performed.
• Conducts on-the-job training and documents it per manuals.
• Completes company forms for work performed and disposition.
• Ensures personnel are qualified for their duties and upgrades skills as needed.
• Maintains station data, tools, equipment, and materials for routine/non-routine maintenance.
• Ensures tools/equipment are serviceable and calibrated where required.
• Supervises maintenance personnel to optimize manpower usage.
• Maintains safe, clean, and operative work areas and facilities.
• Ensures tasks follow manufacturer manuals or FAA-approved data.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by Technical Ops Director or Maintenance Supervisor.

Job description

PURPOSE:The Maintenance Technician Lead is responsible for ensuring that the people assigned to their crew complete their tasks safely, in full compliance with all manuals and procedures while maintaining quality and productivity standards.RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Directs and assigns mechanics, as necessary, to accomplish all maintenance functions in accordance with the GMM.2. Directs and assumes responsibility for quality and quantity of all aircraft maintenance work assigned.3. Ensures on-the-job training is conducted and documented in accordance with the GMM and Training Manual.4. Ensures proper completion of all Company forms for all work assigned, performed, and for the correct disposition upon completion.5. Ensures maintenance personnel are only assigned duties for which they are specifically qualified. Takes appropriate action to upgrade personnel technical skills and qualifications where necessary.6. Ensure their Line Maintenance Station has current technical data, tools, equipment and material necessary to accomplish routine and non-routine maintenance for which they are authorized.7. Ensure that assigned Maintenance Personnel have the proper tools, equipment, and materials to perform assigned tasks.8. Ensure that tools and equipment are serviceable and, where applicable, that they meet calibration requirements prior to their use.9. Supervises all maintenance personnel to ensure efficiency in available manpower utilization.10. Maintains the work areas, buildings and materials, which are utilized for aircraft maintenance, in a safe, clean and operative condition.11. Ensures all tasks assigned are completed in accordance with manufacturer's manuals or other FAA accepted or approved data.12. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Technical Operations and/or Maintenance Supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS:•Must have at least five years’ experience in aircraft maintenance•Avionics experience preferred• Hold a valid Mechanic's Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings; and meet requirements of 14 CFR Part 65.83.•High school diploma or equivalent• Experience living and working in an austere environment preferred• Must hold a DoD (or equivalent) Secret Clearance•Two year experience in a supervisory capacity (PREFERRED)Physical Requirements:Incumbent is required to: be able to lift a minimum of 120 Lbs., perform as an aircraft maintenance technician while being exposed to a wide variety of outside weather conditions (working outside not necessarily in a hanger) including but not limited to extreme heat, cold and adverse weather conditions.Berry Aviation, Inc. is committed to providing equal employment opportunity in all aspects of the employer-employee relationship.
