Agropur, a Minnesota-based manufacturer, seeks a Maintenance Technician Lead to direct the shift maintenance crew, troubleshoot issues, and manage preventive maintenance for plant equipment. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and cost-effective operation.
The candidate will supervise maintenance staff, maintain spares, and drive improvements while ensuring adherence to Agropur safety and quality standards. Shift: 6:30am–4:30pm, Mon–Fri.
RegularThe Maintenance Technician Lead directs and assists the shift maintenance crew, performs all repairs as required by the department, performs troubleshooting processes, manages and performs preventive maintenance program, and assists with machine set ups and rebuilds as required. Follow all safe work habits and practices as prescribed by the Agropur Safety Program; to ensure all staff operates safely and efficiently.

Your role in achieving results:
Initiate, implement, and manage the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the dairy industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiate reordering as needed.
Maintain and repair maintenance shop equipment.
Establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment. (does not apply to LSFI or LSC)
Prepare reports analyze data (does not apply to LSFI or LSC); making recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related issues.
Ensure that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
Maintain and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.

Maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
Drive training and coaching to ensure compliance with Safety standards and incident prevention.
Coordinates activities with Plant Operations Departments.
Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies, immediately reporting any potential food safety issues to management.
Contact with suppliers and vendors as well as occasional contact with regulatory agencies for inspections.
Operate equipment including but not limited to the following: welders, drills, saws, grinders, wrenches and screwdrivers, punches and presses, rollers, hoists, jacks, cars, forklifts, man lifts, ladders, testers, chemical test kits, plant-specific machinery.
Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
