Job summary

Mama's Creations is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to diagnose, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility systems. This senior, hands-on role acts as a technical expert and escalation point for complex mechanical, electrical, and controls issues, partnering with Operations and QA to minimize downtime and ensure production readiness.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic PLC systems.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and repair complex equipment issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and utilities.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for complex or recurring equipment failures, providing root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Execute and support preventive and predictive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Lead or support equipment changeovers, installations, rebuilds, and modifications to support operational needs and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and support Maintenance Technician I and II team members through on-the-job training and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility and utility systems including HVAC, refrigeration, water systems, electrical distribution, and wastewater-related equipment, as applicable.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards, food safety requirements, GMPs, and company policies.
  • Document work orders, repairs, inspections, and parts usage accurately in the CMMS.
  • Support FSQA inspections, audits, and corrective actions related to equipment condition and maintenance practices.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality work.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Reinforce a culture of safety, craftsmanship, accountability, and respect.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician III is a senior-level, hands-on maintenance professional responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations. This role serves as a technical expert and escalation point for complex mechanical, electrical, and controls issues, while supporting preventive maintenance execution and reliability improvements across the site. With a strong commitment to Grandma Quality, the Maintenance Technician III demonstrates pride in workmanship, accountability, and leadership by example. This role partners closely with Operations, FSQA, Sanitation, and Reliability to minimize downtime, support food safety, and ensure equipment and facility systems are production-ready at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and utilities, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls systems.

  • Lead or support equipment changeovers, installations, rebuilds, and modifications to support operational needs and continuous improvement.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility and utility systems including HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, plumbing, steam, electrical distribution, and wastewater-related equipment, as applicable.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards, food safety requirements, GMPs, and company policies.
  • Document work orders, repairs, inspections, and parts usage accurately in the CMMS.
  • Support FSQA inspections, audits, and corrective actions related to equipment condition and maintenance practices.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality work.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic PLC systems.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and repair complex equipment issues.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or regulated environments preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Essential Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely navigate ladders, platforms, catwalks, and rooftops.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including temperature extremes, noise, and humidity.
  • Ability to wear required PPE.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, or extended hours as required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.
