Job description

Base pay range

$22.00/hr - $34.00/hr

Reports to:

Director of Mechanical Services

Classification:

Non-Exempt, Hourly

Schedule:

Full-Time. Variable schedule. No On-Call Shifts

Purpose:

To maintain the physical appearance of the community; service residents' needs with respect to their apartment homes; provide corrective, preventative and emergency maintenance; ensure safe and satisfactory operation of apartment appliances, minor plumbing / electrical carpentry, and floor repairs; assist with apartment turnover preparation, community equipment, HVAC systems, and any other duties assigned.

Responsibilities:
  1. Complete service order requests timely and accurately, as assigned.
  2. Monitor maintenance supply inventory and inform supervisor of items requiring ordering.
  3. Service and maintain community equipment, thereby allowing continued, uninterrupted use.
  4. Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, heating, air-conditioning and ventilation systems.
Required Experience/Skills:
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience including HVAC repair, preventative maintenance of equipment, appliance, plumbing and electrical systems, fire safety equipment, supervision, and apartment turnovers.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform all maintenance repairs independently, professionally, and responsibly.
  • Initiative to continue training to develop skills; licenses and certifications are preferred.
  • Good organizational and time management skills. CFC - Type 2 certification may be required.
  • A valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:

The duties may require lifting, standing, walking, twisting, crawling, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling, and operating equipment, with some tasks involving weights over 40 pounds.
