Job summary

PFERD is seeking a Maintenance Technician III for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM) in Milwaukee to support machine operation and maintenance. You will set up and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and specialty equipment, following specifications to meet product requirements.

The role requires preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inventory coordination, and a strong focus on safety and quality. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Proficient with adjustable measuring devices, rules, scales, gauges, and fixtures.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC programs is a plus.
• Ability to identify, solve problems, and multi-task under deadlines.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and equipment by performing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, and production machines; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes and replaces worn parts and machine tooling; realigns and adjusts components.
• Maintains inventory of materials, tools, and spare parts; coordinates with production for uptime.
