Job summary

Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician III for full-time, on 1st and 2nd shifts (~7am-3:30pm and ~3pm-11:30pm). Responsibilities include facility and equipment maintenance with CMMS documentation and strong troubleshooting skills.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in equipment maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, a driver’s license, and applicable certifications. Must read blueprints and respond to emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility and equipment maintenance per codes; document in CMMS.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, boilers, etc.).
• Maintain patient care equipment such as beds and wheelchairs.
• Repair HVAC, refrigeration, piping, electrical systems and related components.
• Handle grounds, carpentry, painting, and snow removal tasks as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and outages; communicate status to stakeholders.
• Read blueprints and maintenance manuals to complete assignments.

Position: Maintenance Technician III

Location: Atrium Health Cleveland; Shelby, NC.

Full Time; 1st and 2nd shifts available

~7am-3:30pm

~3pm-11:30pm

Major Responsibilities:

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Documents through use of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Maintains, repairs, and conducts complex troubleshooting on mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, controls, etc. with very minimal to no assistance/guidance and both within and outside normal operating procedures.
• Maintains, repairs, and conducts complex troubleshooting on patient care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables, etc. where not maintained by other departments
• Maintains, repairs, and conduct complex troubleshooting mechanical/electrical systems such as pneumatic tube, HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, ice machines, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, piped medical gas systems, specialized water systems etc. with very minimal to no assistance/guidance and both within and outside normal operating procedures.
• Performs other routine to complex general maintenance functions in the areas of grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
• Manage response and repairs associated with emergencies such as leaks, floods, water outages, fires, power outages, equipment failures, etc.
• Respond to building occupant requests in a timely and professional manner. Performs zone maintenance rounding. Keeps requesters apprised of the status of corrective actions and service requests.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and performs equipment safety checks.
• Inspects and repairs fire doors, hardware, firewalls and smoke partitions.
• Reads blueprints and maintenance manuals to gain knowledge needed to complete assignments.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

• Certification and/or additional training in a skill/trade/equipment/system that is applicable to the job needs and the specific location.
• Driver's license required.

Education Required:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Experience Required:

• 4 or more Years of Experience in equipment maintenance

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Basic computer skills such as CMMS, building automation system, Microsoft Office.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and therefore knowledge of safety precautions.
• Position requires travel. May be exposed to road/weather hazards.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
