3. Site Improvement & Continuous Optimization

Actively seek out inefficiencies, recurring jams, and mechanical weak points across the conveyor system, Sorters, Spirals. Lead small improvement projects focused on uptime, jam reduction, and equipment reliability. Collaborate with operations to identify workflow issues and propose mechanical solutions. Recommend parts, design changes, or process adjustments that enhance system performance. Track recurring issues and drive long‑term corrective actions, not just short‑term fixes.

4. Communication, Coordination & Technical Leadership

Provide clear, actionable communication to operations, maintenance leadership, and controls teams. Deliver high‑quality work orders, shift handoff notes, and CMMS entries that support decision‑making. Reduce unnecessary escalations by accurately diagnosing mechanical vs. controls symptoms. Coordinate with operations during breakdowns to manage expectations and maintain safe workflow. Serve as the go‑to resource for technical questions from junior technicians.

5. Safety Leadership & Culture Building

Model uncompromising adherence to LOTO and all safety protocols. Intervene immediately when unsafe behavior is observed and coach others toward safer habits. Lead or support toolbox talks, safety walks, and hazard‑spotting initiatives. Promote a culture where safety is prioritized over speed or convenience.

6. Ownership, Autonomy & Shift Leadership

Take full ownership of shift performance, ensuring uptime meets or exceeds site targets. Prioritize tasks effectively during high‑volume periods or multiple simultaneous breakdowns. Guide other Techs through troubleshooting steps, PM tasks, and repair strategies. Maintain a calm, solution‑focused presence during high‑pressure situations. Demonstrate readiness to step into lead‑level responsibilities when required.

7. Professionalism & Team Influence

Build strong working relationships with operations, controls, and leadership teams. Set the tone for professionalism, reliability, and accountability within the maintenance team. Encourage a positive, collaborative environment where technicians feel supported and challenged. Show initiative in addressing site‑wide issues, not just assigned tasks.
