Serán BioScience is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the daily operation and lifecycle of the manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance of production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations with minimal disruption to production schedule. Qualified candidates will demonstrate adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), SOP’s and safety protocols while exhibiting collaboration with cross-functional teams, both internal and external. Preference will be given to those with manufacturing specific to pharmaceutical drug products, while those with related GMP experience are encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities- Oversees the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Conducts regular inspections to ensure systems comply with safety and environmental regulations
- Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, pIneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Develops and implements preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
- Maintains and manages accurate maintenance records in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Tracks equipment location, condition, and usage to ensure optimal performance and availability
- Maintains asset tracking systems to monitor equipment throughout its lifecycle
- Supports audits and regulatory inspections by providing required equipment data and documentation
- Coordinates with contractors, vendors, service providers and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Provides technical expertise to resolve issues related to building systems and equipment
- Investigates and troubleshoots system failures, recommending and implementing solutions
- Evaluates project feasibility, including cost estimation and resource allocation
- Monitors and analyzes energy usage to identify opportunities for cost savings and sustainability improvements
- Assists in budgeting and forecasting for asset maintenance, replacement, and upgrades
- Monitors expenditures related to asset management to ensure adherence to budget constraints
- Ensures compliance with environmental regulations and standards
- Assists all EMF teams with supervisor-approved requests
- Manages and maintains relationships with contractors and consultants; including reviewing proposals, managing contracts, and allocating resources
- Supervises each contractor and subcontractor to ensure that work is conducted at a high level of safety and quality
- Responsibilities may increase in scope to align with company initiatives
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills- Knowledge of cGMP and Global Regulatory (e.g., FDA / MHRA / EMEA) guidelines and regulations acquired through education, experience, and training
- Extensive experience with facility systems regarding design, construction, and repairs; systems include but are not limited to HVAC, compressed gases, water systems (i.e. purified water, steam), electrical, and automation/controls plus monitoring
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects at once
- Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CMMS, Microsoft Office Suite)
- Communicates effectively and maintains productive relationships with coworkers, clients, and other contacts outside the company

Education and Experience- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in a mechanical or industrial discipline preferred
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with energy management, sustainability practices, and building automation systems
- Requires 3 years of GMP experience
Physical Requirements- Physically able to work throughout facilities
- Prolonged periods of time standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders
- Required to work in settings with extreme cold or heat at various times of year
- Must be able to lift fifteen pounds regularly, up to 30 pounds occasionally
- Adheres to consistent and predicable in-person attendance
