Job summary

Fairway Management, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support residential properties in Missouri. You will perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance to keep units and common areas in excellent condition.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, preventative maintenance, make-readies, and ensuring safety and quality while serving residents and staff. On-call and travel to properties may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of multifamily, commercial, or hotel maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, basic HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, painting and building systems.
  • Knowledge of REAC and INSPIRE inspection preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC during unit turns and preventive maintenance.
  • Perform general repairs independently.
  • Maintain exceptional curb appeal and complete daily resident work orders.
  • Be available for on-call after hours and assist neighboring properties as needed.
  • Ensure units are made ready with painting, carpet cleaning, and cleaning as required.
  • Conduct quarterly preventative maintenance checks.
  • Pick up supplies from area vendors while operating a registered and insured vehicle.
  • Report progress to Regional Manager and Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Attend regional and corporate training or conferences as required.

We are looking for dynamic professionals who are punctual, professional, and proactive. Arriving at work on time, possessing strong time management skills, providing our residents with enthusiastic service while completing work orders, and having a keen eye for detail to catch small issues before they become big in this rewarding role.

A non-extensive list of maintenance skills used in this role includes drywall repair, painting, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, general building maintenance.

  • Regularly troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC as part of completing unit turns, work orders, and preventative maintenance.
  • Preform general repairs independently.
  • Maintain exceptional curb appeal.
  • Complete daily resident work orders.
  • Be available for on call after hours.
  • Must have applicable maintenance tools.
  • Conduct unit make readies ensuring that they are completed in a timely manner. Work included in these tasks: painting, carpet cleaning, and general unit cleaning as needed.
  • Preform quarterly preventative maintenance checks.
  • Must be willing to assist neighboring properties in maintenance tasks.
  • Must be able to pick up supplies from area vendors as needed while legally operating a registered and properly insured vehicle.
  • Reports to Regional Manager and Maintenance Superintendent for all delegated tasks.
  • Travel to, and participate in, both regional and corporate training and/or conferences as required.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with residents, vendors, and other staff members.
  • Make the manager aware of any health and safety concerns on site.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed and approved
  • Must be eager to train and learn company systems, engage in training programs on HVAC, safety training, and be engaged in HUD and LIHTC maintenance standard training.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education:
  • High School diploma or the equivalent
  • Experience:
  • 3 + years of experience in multifamily, commercial, or hotel maintenance experience
  • Must have working knowledge in plumbing, electrical, basic HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, painting, and building operating systems (ie. Door entry systems, fire suppression systems, etc.)
  • Must have knowledge of REAC and INSPIRE inspection preparation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • HVAC EPA Type II Certification
Physical & Work Environment Requirements: (If applicable)
  • Must be able to preform all physical requirements of position including but not limited to being able to lift a minimum of 55lbs, work in enclosed spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
