Job summary

Pfizer in North Carolina, Rocky Mount is seeking a Maintenance and Reliability Engineer to oversee the upkeep of utility systems, buildings, and equipment. You will contribute to team deliverables, coordinate with colleagues, and ensure work quality and safety compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, basic technical knowledge, and strong communication and teamwork skills. On-site with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and reliability tasks for utility systems, buildings, and equipment.
  • Contribute to meeting team deliverables and coordinate with others.
  • Manage time effectively and pursue professional development.
  • Follow procedures to complete tasks within the timeframe.
  • Identify and solve moderately routine problems.
  • Complete assignments with supervision and refer deviations to supervisor.
  • Ensure work is reviewed for accuracy and quality.
  • Participate in multi-craft work, plant audits, safety activities, and EH&S protocols.
  • Track repair history and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Achieve
  • Oversee maintenance and reliability engineering tasks, including the redesign, upkeep, and repair of utility systems, buildings, and equipment.
  • Take responsibility for individual contributions to achieve team deliverables, working effectively as a team member and coordinating with others.
  • Manage personal time and professional development, being accountable for results.
  • Follow standard procedures to complete tasks of varying scope, sequence, and complexity within the agreed timeframe.
  • Identify and solve moderately routine problems.
  • Complete assignments with moderate supervision using established procedures, referring deviations from standard procedures to the supervisor.
  • Ensure work is reviewed for accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Participate in multi-craft work activities, assist with plant audits, be involved in safety committee activities, and follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements and protocols.
  • Track repair history of process support systems and equipment, lead or participate in continuous improvement activities, and make recommendations regarding improved machine performance.

  • Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and schematics
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity and basic understanding of common AI tools and a curiosity for learning how they can be used to enhance productivity
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lifting (up to 50 lbs., sitting, standing, walking, bending, ability to perform mathematical calculations
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Occasional overtime for shift coverage.
