Job summary

Conagra Brands in Indianapolis is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to operate and maintain boilers, HVAC and ammonia systems, cooling equipment, and fire suppression. You will report to the Engineering Manager at our Indianapolis Bakery plant.

Pay starts at $32.92 per hour. The role requires basic mechanical, electrical, and math skills, a High School diploma or equivalent, and onsite work in Indianapolis, IN.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical, electrical, and math skills expected.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Work onsite at our Indianapolis, IN plant.
• Willing to earn the following certifications: Universal HVAC, RETA CARO, Hazmat Emergency Responder, RETA CIRO.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers, air and ammonia compressors, condensers, steam control systems, and fire suppression.
• Report to the Engineering Manager at our Indianapolis Bakery plant.
• Maintain ammonia and HVAC systems, chillers, glycol, condensers, water towers, evaporators and heat exchangers.
• Service and repair steam boilers, softeners, electrical and gas systems, ovens and electrical switchgear.
• Support fire control systems and safety procedures.

Job description

Shift: 6:00 PM-6:00 AM

Hourly Rate: $32.92 an hour + $0.50 shift differential

Summary

As a Refrigeration Technician, you are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the boilers, air and ammonia compressors, condensers, steam control systems, and fire suppression. You will report to the Engineering Manager at our Indianapolis Bakery plant. Pay starts at $32.92 per hour.

Essential Physical And Mental Requirements

• While performing the tasks of this job, you are frequently required to sit and talk/hear, stand, walk, use hands and tools, reach with hands and arms, stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell.


• You must lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to prepare appropriate reports and results.


• You may be subject to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious illnesses, occupational hazardous materials and associated protective activities and donning personal protective equipment.


• Monitor, rebuild, and repair equipment.


• Ascend and descend from Step Ladders, Platform ladders and Extension Ladders


• Notice and be able to attend and distinguish normal from abnormal noises in equipment and machinery. Listen and respond to forklift truck safety beeps and public announcement intercom system.


• Respond to emergency situations.


• Pass a Respirator fit test.
