Job summary

Joyce/Dayton Corp. in Portland, IN is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to perform diverse building and equipment repairs and preventive maintenance. This non-exempt, hourly role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and supports production through troubleshooting and timely repairs.

Essential duties include evaluating maintenance, documenting procedures, and ensuring health and safety policies are followed. Strong mechanical aptitude and forklift operation are required.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 7 years of proven mechanical experience.
• 2-year technical or related degree preferred and/or 4+ years of manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years of prior maintenance experience.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Proven mechanical, electrical, hydraulic knowledge.
• Proven blueprint reading ability.
• Own all necessary or required tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, improve, and document machine and facility maintenance.
• Support production, troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
• Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
• Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
• Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality.
• Maintain maintenance logs and reports on daily activities.
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed.
• Support company policies and procedures, goals and objectives and good manufacturing practices.
