Job summary

Glacier Hills Senior Living Community in Rochester, MI is seeking an Environmental Services Technician for full-time, evening shift. You will perform maintenance and repair work on buildings, property and equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable, and clean environment for residents and staff.

The role requires knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry, plus strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must validate at least 5 years maintenance and/or building trade experience.
• Knowledgeable in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Carpentry.
• Boilers, pumps, valves, components of heating systems.
• Chiller, pumps, compressors, components of cooling systems.
• Electrical system control and codes.
• Mechanical maintenance requirements, procedures and codes.
• Plumbing requirements, procedures and codes.
• Building and structure maintenance requirements, including painting, carpentry and construction requirements and procedures.
• Building fire safety features and compliance with annual requirements.
• Capable of planning/organizing work assignments determining priorities, determining maintenance/repair requirements in given situation and determining material requirements of requests.
• Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
• Must possess strong communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to ongoing change and work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
• Possesses interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member and to positively relate to all residents.
• Self-starter, highly motivated with a high productivity level.

POSITION PURPOSE

Under supervision of the Environmental Services Manager / Designee, the Environmental Services Technician performs maintenance and repair work on buildings, property and equipment to ensure a comfortable, safe and clean environment for residents and staff members
