Job summary

Novo Nordisk is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to improve systems and equipment reliability on assigned processes. You will reduce downtime and support operation of processes, reporting to the Senior Project Manager - OFP.

This role requires safety adherence, SOP compliance, and proactive maintenance execution. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in manufacturing, 3+ years in regulated solid-dose manufacturing, and strong troubleshooting, training, and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent training in mechanical/electrical/control systems.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing; 3+ years in regulated, solid dose manufacturing.
• Experience in equipment troubleshooting and preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Ability to train new hires on maintenance processes and technical documentation (SOPs, PMs, SAP).
• Experience planning and organizing work and coordinating with daily work plan is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and environmental requirements in duties.
• Follow SOPs in performance of duties.
• Develop and establish maintenance procedures, maintenance plans, and spare parts lists for assigned processes.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance timely.
• Interpret mechanical and electrical specifications, drawings, and other technical data sheets.
• Work rotating shifts, night shifts, extended shifts, and/or weekends.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are documented in SAP.
• Collaborate with process owners to improve performance and reliability of equipment.
• Contribute to growth and development of the maintenance team through training and learning new systems.
• Use Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) tools to establish root cause analysis and resolve issues.
• Suggest practical changes to equipment and department practices.
• Collaborate with Responsible Engineers & Manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Other accountabilities, as assigned.

The Position

Improve systems & equipment reliability on assigned process, reduce system/equipment downtime on assigned process & support operation of assigned process.

Relationships

Reports to Senior Project Manager - OFP.

Essential Functions

• Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures in performance of assigned duties
• Support the development & establishment of maintenance procedures, maintenance plans & spare parts lists for processes assigned
• Perform corrective & preventative maintenance on assigned process in a timely manner
• Ability to interpret mechanical & electrical specifications, drawings & other technical data sheets
• Ability to work rotating shifts, night shifts, extended shifts and/or weekends
• Ensure all maintenance activities are correctly documented in SAP
• Partner with process owners to actively improve performance & reliability of process equipment
• Contribute to growth & development of the maintenance team by training fellow technicians in areas of expertise, as well as learning new systems
• Use Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) tools to establish Root Cause Analysis & resolve equipment issues
• Suggest practical changes or improvements to equipment & department work practices
• Collaborate with Responsible Engineers & Manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot equipment problems
• Other accountabilities, as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require colour vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Adequate to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in relevant field or equivalent military/industry training, which includes a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical & control systems required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing industry required
• Minimum of three (3) years of regulated industry & solid dose manufacturing experience required
• Demonstrated experience in executing equipment troubleshooting, preventative and predictive maintenance required
• Demonstrated ability to train new hires on maintenance processes & technical documentation (SOPs & PMs, SAP) preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in three (3) or more of processes listed in the Process Alignment section above preferred
• Successful completion of Maintenance Technician II Job Qualification Requirements (JQR) & promotion board approval required
• Experience in planning/organizing work, managing execution, checking results & revising the work plan in accordance with the daily work plan a plus
