Job summary

Cleaver-Brooks is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift in Lincoln, NE. The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment and electrical/mechanical systems.

Candidates should be able to install, diagnose, and replace parts across a range of machinery, while adhering to safety rules and ensuring efficient operations. Essential duties include maintaining spare parts inventory, performing complex mechanical/electrical maintenance, and supporting

  • High school diploma or GED preferred with additional technical training.
  • Associate degree in electromechanical or electronic tech preferred.
  • Experience in industrial electronics and maintenance is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Install/repair plant lighting and mechanical systems and maintain equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair welding equipment, CNC drills, and other machinery.
  • Maintain inventory records and process purchase requisitions for parts.
  • Follow safety rules and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Support projects and adhere to company policies.

Job description

Cleaver Brooks is looking for a Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift(3:30 to 12 am)to join our team in Lincoln, NE. The Maintenance Technician performsall plant maintenance functionsincluding:troubleshootingequipment, preventive maintenance, repairof plant equipment, replacement and installation of electricalandmechanical systems,andequipment and fixtures. Performs advancedmechanicalmaintenance and electricalmaintenancedutiesrelated to equipment or facility troubleshooting, repair, replacement and basic electronic functions.

Job Location: Lincoln, NE

Shift: Second Shift (3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.)

Essential functions:
  • Install new or repair/replaceplantlighting, air compressors, plant air/oxygen/gas distribution and all other mechanical maintenance work requiring thorough knowledge or training in advanced mechanical theory.
  • Understands the necessary purchasing related procedures to order a replacement or spare part, including the paperwork procedures required for purchase requisitions.
  • Maintains adequate records of inventory of spare parts for all production equipment and reports needed for replacement.
  • Must have the ability to diagnose and repair/replace any basic building,structureorgroundsproblem.
  • Must be capable of performing preventative maintenance tasks on all weldingequipment,CNCdrills,pressbrake, tube bender,metalshear, plasma table, fin tubewelder, air tools, forklifts, scissor lifts,and overhead cranes.
  • Must be capable of performing intricate machine maintenance, repair and / or replacement, except where managementdeterminesthat machinery complexity requires outside services.
  • Mustcapableof troubleshooting and performing electrical repairs on all welding equipment.
  • Must be able toidentifyparts, place purchaseordersand receive parts related to plant equipment.
  • Must successfully complete confined space safety training.Canwork from heights using boom lift.
  • Must know, understand, and abide by all plant safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure duties and company projects are accomplished in an efficient andcost effectivemanner.
  • Support peers and management with internal and external projects.
  • Adhere to company policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements:

Education:

  • High school education or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Associate degree in Electromechanical or Electronic Engineering Technology preferred.
  • Technical training in industrial maintenance and/or industrial electricity preferred.

Experience:

  • Three (3)to five (5) years of experience in industrial electronics, with some background in maintenance and/or industrial electricity preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic electricity; strong verbal and interpersonal skills; basic welding skills; ability to use a variety of hand and power tools; and ability toproperly usea tape measure and read a blueprint preferred.

Physical Skill & Effort: Work requires ability to lift80lbs.; ability to use different body positions - twisting, pulling, pushing etc., work at 40 ft. heights, work in confined space, access all areas of the plant inside and outside temperatures, and use all required PPE.
