Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform emergency, routine and preventive maintenance on production and building equipment.

You will address safety, communicate effectively, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems to maintain manufacturing reliability. The role expects 3-5 years of experience, with OSHA/arc flash/LOTO/NEC knowledge, and requires reading blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience maintaining industrial equipment, automation or product repair.
  • Ability to identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, Arc Flash, LOTO and NEC standards.
  • PIV and aerial lift training and certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support and service of production lines within the facility.
  • Perform preventative maintenance of production line equipment.
  • Mechanical, electrical and PLC troubleshooting and repair.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and building schematics.

Hours: 2:30pm-10:30pm Monday-Friday Pay Rate: $23.85 per hour + $2.50 shift premium

Job Summary: Following established process and procedures, the Maintenance Technician is expected to perform emergency, routine and preventive maintenance on all production and building equipment while maintaining safety and communicating effectively. This position is responsible for daily problem solving and for the repair of robotic, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or small outdoor power equipment that is associated with manufacturing and facility infrastructure (where applicable).

Maintenance Technician I Responsibilities
  • Support and service of production lines within the facility.
  • Perform preventative maintenance of production line equipment.
  • Seasonal external facility maintenance.
  • Waste management and simple routine facility maintenance.
  • Identifying parts and materials needed to perform duties.
  • Maintenance of 5S program.
  • Maintaining compliance with training programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Maintenance Technician II Responsibilities
  • All Maintenance Technician I responsibilities.
  • Email and phone conversations with vendors.
  • Maintenance and system entry of PM’s and work orders.
  • Gather information and assist in creation of new PMs.
  • Mechanical, electrical and PLC troubleshooting and repair.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and building schematics.
  • Replacement of broken or outdated building facility.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience maintaining industrial equipment, automation or product repair.
  • Maintenance Technician I Ability to effectively communicate across departments.
  • Ability to identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Ability to safely and proficiently perform maintenance and related activities of equipment, building, and grounds.
  • Ability to prioritize daily and weekly work assignments as needed.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in OSHA, Arc Flash, LOTO and NEC.
  • PIV training and certification.
  • Airial lift training and certification.
  • Knowledge of basic PC functions including Windows knowledge.
  • Maintenance Technician II Maintenance Technician I knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to work off of drawings, sketches, and blueprints.
  • Initiative to learn how to assist, diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain certifications for operation of service equipment.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
