Job summary

Pacific Seafood in Woodland seeks a Maintenance Technician II to join our maintenance team. You will repair and maintain buildings, tools, and equipment, performing preventative tasks to ensure safe, sanitary operations in the plant and surrounding grounds.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of related experience, and hands-on mechatronic system skills. Forklift experience or certification is a plus; on‑call readiness is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair maintenance issues; provide timely follow-up.
  • Repair minor plumbing and electrical issues to support production.
  • Understand production equipment setup, operation, and adjustments.
  • Improve safety, workflows, and return-to-service protocols.
  • Assist with new installation projects and equipment improvements.
  • Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and managers; on-call readiness as needed.

Compensation: $29.00 - $30.00 / hour

Summary

A Maintenance Technician II at Pacific Seafood is a key role in our Maintenance team supporting efforts to repair and upkeep all buildings, tools, and equipment. This position involves providing preventative maintenance including a safe and sanitary environment to the plant and surrounding grounds and is ideal for someone who is safety conscious, a team player, and can manage their time effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintenance and Repair:
    • Independently assess and troubleshoot maintenance and repair issues, providing timely follow-up and resolution.
    • Proficiently execute minor plumbing and electrical repairs to ensure uninterrupted production.
    • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the set-up, operation, and adjustment procedures of production equipment.
    • Utilize expertise to optimize production equipment performance, enhance the work order system, and implement a structured return-to-service protocol.
    • Execute repairs promptly during equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
    • Contribute to the improvement of safety standards by promptly addressing and rectifying any unsafe conditions.
    • Utilize advanced skills to repair aesthetic defects, such as seals, hinges, and hangers, during maintenance and breakdown periods.
    • Actively participate in new installation projects, providing valuable insights and technical support.
  2. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration among machine operators, department supervisors, and managers.
    • Maintain readiness to be on call as necessary to address emergent maintenance issues.
    • Conduct regular walk-throughs to proactively identify and address potential problems, ensuring smooth production operations.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.

What you bring to Pacific Seafood

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years related experience and/or training.
  • Hands-on experience with mechatronic systems, including the installation, maintenance, testing, and automated repair of computer-controlled electromechanical equipment.

Preferred:

  • Prior forklift operation experience.
  • Forklift certification.
