Job summary

Albany International Corp. seeks a Weekend Maintenance Technician to ensure safe, efficient operation of production machinery. You will troubleshoot, repair, and sustain preventative maintenance programs, and guide Level I Technicians while documenting work to support plant performance.

Starting with a 7pm-7am weekend shift (Fri–Sun), the role emphasizes safety, reliability, and collaboration. Candidates should have 3–5 years of maintenance experience, exposure to PLCs or vision systems

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience required.
  • Experience or exposure with controls, electrical, mechanical, and/or tooling maintenance preferred.
  • Experience with PLCs preferred.
  • Vision systems experience or willingness to learn preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED required; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing production floor machinery and equipment throughout the plant.
  • Sustain and improve preventative maintenance programs and techniques on all machinery and equipment.
  • Direct activities and provide technical direction to Level I Maintenance Technicians.
  • Provide production support with changeover, product setup and startup.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Interact with production supervision to ensure timely information flow.
  • Document equipment maintenance performed.
  • Housekeeping and organization of the work area (5S).
  • Adhere to Albany’s values and safety requirements at all times.

Job Description
Position: Maintenance Technician, Weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 7pm-7am
Job Purpose

This role ensures the safe, efficient operation of production machinery through consistent adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards, while actively maintaining and improving preventative maintenance programs. Additionally, the role involves guiding Level I Maintenance Technicians, supporting production processes, and keeping detailed maintenance records to contribute to overall plant performance.

  • Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing of production floor machinery and equipment throughout the plant

Qualifications/Characteristics
  • 3-5 years of previous maintenance experience required
  • Previous experience or exposure with controls, electrical, mechanical, and/or tooling maintenance preferred
  • Previous experience with PLCs preferred
  • Previous experience with vision systems (like quality inspection, robotics, or automation) preferred, or willingness to learn
  • Willingness to complete company-provided controls, electrical, mechanical, and/or tooling training
  • A High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SAP preferred
Working Conditions

Indoor production environment, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures, some work outside may be required, Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations required, overtime dependent on business need.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent repetitive hand movements, using hand tools – pliers, sanders, scissors, etc
  • Frequently remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time
  • Frequently move about the facility indoors as well as outdoors to make repairs, etc…
  • Constantly positions self to repair/build equipment and/or facility
  • Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to service equipment and/or complete a building repair
  • Must be able to detect equipment issues and assess for repairs
  • Regularly move tools and equipment up to >25 lbs.
