Related Affordable is seeking a Maintenance Technician to lead and mentor the maintenance team, ensuring safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing buildings and grounds.

You will oversee daily operations, coordinate schedules, and tackle complex repairs across HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems, while serving as a key liaison between staff and management to uphold service and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Strong technical skills in HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
• Affordable housing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Schedule flexibility, including the ability to work weekends when necessary to meet property maintenance demands.
• Must participate in the emergency on-call rotation as needed.
• Dedicated to exceeding expectations, leading by example, and providing exceptional service.
• Demonstrates accountability and reliability with proactive problem-solving and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with the Maintenance Supervisor on priorities and inventory management.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule for emergency repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist in completing work orders from resident service requests by diagnosing issues and making repairs in accordance with established policies and safety standards.


• Oversee the \"make-ready\" process for vacant apartments, including conducting inspections, creating maintenance task lists, scheduling contractors, obtaining supplies, and ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.


• Develop and maintain cleanliness and appearance standards throughout the community, ensuring all areas, including grounds and common spaces, reflect the company’s high quality.


• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance staff, ensuring efficient workflow.


• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to optimize operations.


• Conduct property inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.


• Assist in training and developing maintenance team members to enhance their skills.

ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE:

• $27.00 - $31.00 / hour


• plus an annual bonus


• This position is Non-Exempt, meaning eligible for overtime pay

This range is provided as a general guideline and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, geographical location, and the specific responsibilities of the role. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Final compensation offers will be determined following a thorough assessment of the candidate’s background and the requirements of the position.
